With ongoing higher oil prices and our increasing dependency on foreign oils, Americans have never before had to look at ways to tighten their belts from foods costs to utilities expenses.  How to source lower costs of energy and electricity has been the most popular topics being discussed on both on and off line forum. Because like it or not we all have to pay attention to different billing amounts, likely on the increasing trend, shown on the utilities bills when they due every month.  We keep asking ourselves are there any alternatives when it comes to energy and electricity supplier?

The answer is probably yes but even suppliers are having challenges to bring the prices down too.  After conducting a number of researches in hope of finding cheaper energy and electricity suppliers, I do not seem to come up with many options, and even some available options do come with a certain number of conditions which make it harder to meet.  For those who fortunately live in warmer climate areas like California or Texas or Florida, the question of cheaper energy and electricity sources is not as remarkable as those who live in the northeast region where winter can be as brutal as it can get.  You do not have to be retirees to concern about higher utilities bills when they due each month, although retirees with fixed income maybe the most obvious likely hit persons by these higher costs.  In order to stay financial sound or financially survival it is wise to look at methods to save on energy and electricity bills by switching into cheaper electricity suppliers. 

Before you can succeed in finding an ideal supplier who gives you an enormous cut in your bills, you should look at ways to cut your own electricity and energy consumption by say installing programmable thermostat to monitor temperature level hence reducing electricity usage.  The programmable thermostat allows you to set desired temperature in the house so that the air conditioner or heater can work accordingly to maintain the level of desired temperature.  When temperature goes lower then the heater starts working to bring it up to the set level then ceases.  Therefore neither air conditioner nor heater has to run around the clock meaning consuming electricity all the time.  Make sure to close the windows when the air conditioner or heater are in operational otherwise you will not only break the devices but also manage to waste electricity sources.

If possible do replace all light bulbs in the house with energy saving light bulbs, fluorescent light bulbs.  These bulbs are of good quality, very bright, durable and consume about one fourth of what normally does by regular tungsten bulbs.  If you need to have full time light on in areas like basement or garage, these bulbs are best alternative.  If you live in regions that have abundant sun light all year round, you can try to install some solar energy collector which probably be done by professional. It may cost for the first time of investment but it may worth your money because you can enjoy free energy from there on.
