What to know about house cleaning service

With our increasing responsibilities evolving our career, social lives and children, having a regular house cleaning service for your home does take off a load of stress. It is important because none of us wants to come back to a messy home with stained carpet, unclean bathrooms and dirty dishes waiting in the sink, at the end of a busy and tiring working day.  However it is not easy to find a good and trusting house cleaning service, many often hire wrong people and end up paying large sum for the mistake.  I have taken the liberty to design a “laundry list” that covers all necessary conditions that you may be aware of and make sure to get the details of this information when discussing house cleaning possibility with any potential worker.  This should give you a piece of mind and assure the quality of the service when working with new cleaning agent.

  1. You should determine the frequency of service you want such as periodical service (weekly, bi monthly or monthly), on call cleanings or just one time. Depends on the frequency of the service you desire, service fees will then be determined.
  2. Jot down your cleaning needs such as specific time for cleaning, any conditions of cleaning that the cleaning agent should be aware of (i.e. anyone in your household is sensitive to certain kind of chemicals or detergent), focus of cleaning needs (e.g. your household has elderly, children or pets who make harsh stains that need to be cleaned specially).
  3. Think of which type of house cleaner you would want to hire.  You typically have three options on house cleaners:
  4. You can hire a house cleaner directly through recommendation of friends and family.  In this case you will work with him/ her directly and assume liabilities by yourself;
  5. You may sign a contract with a service company that subcontracts to house cleaners. If this is the case you will establish a relationship with that company, not the house cleaner.  But make sure the person who comes to your house to work has a business license, and importantly whether or not they carry liability insurance. If you want to be more secure you may ask the company that sends them to send you a copy of insurance certificate to make sure their coverage is up to date.  Without insurance you may have to pay for repairs to any damage done during the cleaning by yourself.
  6. You hire a professional cleaning company with its own employees. This is considered best bank for your buck because it is the easiest and perhaps the best way to get your home cleaned with a great deal of piece of mind.  These professional cleaning companies hire people, train them, insure their services, manage and dispatch them effectively.  It is important to know that their employers are responsible to verify their employees’ paper works to make sure they are eligible to serve.  Because they are professionally trained they understand cleaning instructions well to make sure your cleaning requests are strictly followed.  They typically come with their own professional cleaning equipment and materials so that you do not have to worry about stocking any of these. If you need regular service, these companies with abundant resources should be able to meet your request at great consiste
