What is laminating sheets?
Laminating sheets are kind of paper sheets. People use them to shield the cover of documents or somekind of another things like: certifications, photos, cell phones, laptops etc…
There are many sizes of laminating sheet suitable for each thing that need to be covered.
How many kind of laminating sheets?
Nowaday, various type of laminating sheets appear. They can be classified by the sheet sizes, quantity, the thickness of the papers etc…In this case, we should sort them by the way they work.
Then, there are 3 types of laminating sheets: heatseal, cartridge and self-laminating sheet.
How does it work?
1/ Heatseal laminating sheet
This type of laminating sheet is active by the heat. There is specific machine called heatseal laminator which used to activate heatseal laminating sheet. Photocopy shops used to use this type of laminating sheet because it’s easy to use and doesn’t take much time.
2/ Cartridge laminating sheet
Cartridge laminating sheet works with the similar code of practice of heatseal laminating sheet. Instead of heat, they use pressure to make the cover.
3/ Self-laminating sheet:
This is the most useful laminating sheet for individual users.
Totally differ from the two kind of laminating sheet above, self-laminating sheet use gummy to stick to things that they need to cover. That’s why they are also called self-adhesive sheet.
There is a crystalline layer in the back of the sheet which can be pulled out. Then, you can use that layer to cover the thing that need to be laminated.
Some self-laminating sheet that need heat to be active. But we don’t have to use a special machine like heatseal laminating sheet or cartridge laminating sheet. We just have to use a very simple appliance: iron.
Self-laminating sheets are suitable for home or office users. They are also workable for handmade experiments like coasters, crapbooks etc…
You can also use self-laminating sheets in many important papers as I.D card, student card, time-sheet card or other things which made from paper that you want to protect to use in long time.
Everything has two side (or more). Self-laminating sheets are not excepted. They are easy to use but not durable as long as the two laminating sheets above.
Self-laminating sheets can be unstainded with humidity but can be damage with the washing machine.
There are very many styles and sizes of self-laminating sheets. But if you are economical users, you should use the standard letter size sheets. With them, you can cover almost things by cut to the fitting size.
Then, remember to use self-laminating sheets with important things.
